Marcia Kure trained under Obiora Udechukwu as a student at the University of Nsukka. She has been exhibited across Africa and Europe and the United States. Marcia’s signature is informed by an evolution of form.  Her work mixes color in the manner reminiscent of dying fabric to create clothing. She is drawn to varied expressions of femininity and he themes have touched on feminine agency, motherhood, patriarchy. An abstract expressionist, she draws, sculpts and creates photo-montages to imagine alternate lives and realities as a critical response to the postcolonial existential condition.
